Actually I was thinking in terms of 1914, where the timing of US entry is critical to the Allies staving off defeat.

For Global (which I haven't played) I imagine the tipping point is not as acute, so doubling income may be a little too much.

America is more important to the Allies in WWII, and enters at a relatively early stage, so it cannot be made too powerful industrially.

But the same principle applies. As I've suggested elsewhere, the US might get a one-off conscription discount on the first turn of being at war. This would apply to infantry only, as it takes longer to gear up factories to produce modern tanks, artillery and aircraft.

Personally, I'd prefer to miss the first few turns than have to mechanically buy and place units without being able to use them in combat.
