Egypt setup in Global 1940 2nd Edtion

Post by P@nther » Sat Sep 15, 2012 10:34 am

Is it intended that the setup for Egypt in Global 1940 2nd Edition is
one UK infantry less compared to the latest Alpha?

Are there any plans by Larry to consider some "official" adjustments in the setup??? Just received my copies of the 2nd ed G40 also. This version has been played many times since the completion of A3 in March. Bids tends to be between 6-12 IPCs. Most feel UK needs a sub in the Med and/or a Russian bomber. Taking away another infantry from UK, does not help Allies regain some balance.

Any thoughts on this??? I will expend a little more later.

That being said, the improvments are awesome and most people are pretty happy with the new changes, rules and sculpts etc.

The new setup was posted weeks ago. They are not doing laundry list of changes. It is what it is, play with Russian bomber as house rule.
We really need an Axis and Allies World War one game so i can play that on August 1st, 2014.

My first post on harrisforums.
Long time poster on AAorg forums.

First of I feel confident that I can beat anyone with Axis if Britons loose one more inf in Egypt. Its will be as unbalanced as axis and allies anniversary edition...

Easy fix though  :
- remove inf from egypt
- add russian bomber
- add china AA gun
- remove strange russian NO in africa and Italian islands

WOW....glad to hear they took out one inf from egypt!! one more SMALL chance for Italy to get on their feet in the med.

as a side note: I must really suck at this game or something becosue i do not understand why the allies would need a bid. i win most games as the allies but loose most games as the axis.

Me too Chris. I cannot win as the Axis any more ( and have not played as the Allies).

Total agree. Its sooo easy to make a fatal mistake as Axis and then its all downward.

I'd really like to know why Allies would need more aggressive units like a bomber or a sub. If they keep cool and try to maneuver axis out by playing passive, allies have a good chance of winning in the end, once the axis have lost their momentum.
