Rules clarification plz: Naval Units Placement

Naval strategy and wise economic moves are both critical in waging this far-flung war across an entire hemisphere. To the familiar elements from Axis & Allies, Axis & Allies: Pacific adds convoys, island air and naval bases, kamikazes, destroyers, and the Chinese army.

Rules clarification plz: Naval Units Placement

Post by xxstefanx » Thu Nov 20, 2008 8:25 pm

From the games manual:
"Naval units acquired during phase 1 are now placed in sea zones adjacent to your home territory."

Isn't "your home territory" the territory with the big nation symbol in it? The one you loose the game when loosing it?
So does this explicitly say that US ships can only be built in SZ 5?
(which historically perfectly makes sin anyway!)

Plz clarify!

(the terminus "home territory" already appeared in the AAE manual and there it is equivalent to Germany, UK, Moscow and US - the territories with the big signs and the importance if when lost you loose the game!)

From the FAQ:
Can you place naval units in Hawaii? Page 25 states "Naval units acquired during phase 1 are now placed in sea zones adjacent to your home territory." Is Hawaii considered US home territory?
Yes, the US can build all types of units in Hawaii. “Home Territory” was a poor choice of words. They are subject to the usual restrictions; units can only be placed in territories (or sea zones adjacent to territories) that were owned since the start of the player turn.
That should clear it up!

Thx, Krieghund!

All my life I have played it the (right) way but a friend brought this up and I suddenly thought:

And if you took the words exactly..."home territory", oh well!
