Pacific40 Pics and Europe40 Questions

This game, measuring 35”x32” is compatible with the yet to be released Axis & Allies Europe 1940 game (coming in August 2010). This game includes newly introduced units such as mechanized infantry and tactical bombers.

No Azores. I tried. I thought it really added to AA50 and gave Germany some options for fun strategies.

I can live w/o Azors, just don't F-up France and the Low Countries.

Still, Azors would have been great, though perhaps somewhat untennable. Germany could take it with a para drop, but would need a big navy to hold it. If Germany wants to take the fight to the US, he needs to take and hold UK, and launch long range heavy bombers. Rockets from a fortified Greenland isn't a bad idea, either. Still, even with the unlikely early UK invasion, Russia is still a problem.

Since Azors are portuguese, they should activate when Portugal/Angola/Mozambique are attacked, and join the oppositte faction. If allies attack, join Germany; if axis attack, join UK

Same for Spain/West Sahara (but let the republican Spain join USSR if germans attack, that would be cool :D )

This is 1940

and I found this on wikipedia
In 1943, during the Second World War, The Portuguese dictator, António de Oliveira Salazar, leased bases in the Azores to the British, despite his previous collaboration with Germany.[2] This was a key turning point in the Battle of the Atlantic, allowing the Allies to provide aerial coverage in the middle of the Atlantic. This helped them to hunt U-boats and protect convoys.

The allies used the inland, the Germans had plans to use it, why is it not in the game?

Its not like the azores takes up alot of space.
Larry, can you please explain?

Before 1943 it was more in dispute and the allies invaded it so that it would not fall to Germany.

It was of crucial importance and Admiral Canaris deliberately sabotaged the influence of German planners to occupy it

Larry or Kreighund,

Since P40 came with its own NOs, it is assumed that E40 will also.

Will the global game come with a brand new set of NOs or just use the ones established in P40 and E40???

Do you understand my question??? I'll clarify more if needed.

Thanks in advance again.

P.S. Superb game by the way- can't wait for June '10 for Europe 40 :D
and

When will the FAQs and Errata be out???

I have a question about the global game.

How will the split income work with the United States?

How much goes to the Pacific theater and how much to Europe?
Foolish mortals, I will destroy you all!!!
NOT

I think the printed IPC on the AAP40 map will be what USA must spend on that area, another allotment will be assigned for AAE40 using that maps printed IPC values.

Now USA will be the most fun to play because they get a whole bunch of toys to buy.

I think what will happen is USA can then be two players one on each end, making it 7 players or 8 if you think france is a player.
