I have not played it yet, but my son (home from the NAVY) and his friend played for hours. They said, after they understand the rules, it was one of the best game they have played.

Thank you Larry, I picked up two copies of your new game and love the new combat system. This is indeed a great game, it even was among the top 50 on Geek-list the first week, but unfortunately have dropped a little now. I have also got my replacement cruisers, thanks to WOTC.

Just one comment, in the rule-book it says I start with 5 points and get 2 points for each island I controll. But guess what, it turns out the rule-book was flawn, so I start with 10 and get 4 for each island. How you explain this ? Watching the Late, late show while writing the rulebook ?

And just how can you justifie an artillery on land can shoot and sink a lone sub out in the sea ?

...in the early days of WWII, for the Battle Of Wake Is., what would be consider no more than small to medium artillery guns, sank I believe transports/D.D.s (it helped they came in close to shore). Much less using 100lb. bombs, USMC fighters sank a ship or two. So if a sub. comes too close to shore, it can be sunk by shore base guns.

P.S. I believe a sub. in the Pacific War, had a torpodoe go off course, and, sank/blow up, a land based soft skin vechicle, thanks, Pellulo

...If it, the sub., is picking up downed pilots/air crew, or, landing a recon./raider party, or, spying, that makes sense. Now if the sub. just hangs off a beach(not submerged), that has land artillery pointed out to sea, is foolhearty. Thanks, Pellulo

There was a French sub, who had a gun battery built in it, a ?pair of 6" guns?, still more appropriate for naval combat, than shore bombardment/gun duel with shore batteries, thanks, Pellulo

Thought some of you might be interested in this. My dad served on Guadacanal as a scout. He passed away last year but his story, along with many others, lives on at this site.
