6 PLAYER GAME

We've talked about Advanced A&A... Now I'd like to hear your comments on what YOU envision a DELUXE A&A GAME to be. What would it look like.

6 PLAYER GAME

Post by adlertag » Wed Feb 14, 2007 5:07 am

WHO IS THE 6'TH PLAYER ?

1) ITALY ?

What can Italy add to the game ?
German molds in light grey ? Yes, sure.
New strategies ? No, dont think so.

2)CHINA ?

What can China add to the game ?
New infantry molds in ....colour.

3)Western USA ?

Now we are talking. Buy spliting USA into two players, we will see more historical correct Pacific battles. It will feels like playing A&A Europe and A&A Pacific at the same time, only better.

No more historic incorrect US Pipelines through Sovjet territories.

Another game, Combined Arms 1939-1945 made an German split, where the Western Germany was fighting the Allies and the Eastern Germany was fighting the Sovjets. Very interessting game.

Also, the present A&A Revised map has already perfect split USA into two players with separate campaigns and theaters. All that remains is to give them separate income. No need for new molds.

Let the Western US also controll the Chines forces, and our beloved game is fixed.

I wouldn't be against a 6th player. It would depend how it was implemented. Would it ever be used?

right now, it's hard enough to get 5 players together for a game,,, try getting 6!

To me, the addition of a sixth player is something for an advanced version of the game, not a deluxe version.

Italy is the sixth in my mind.

My gaming group is playing right now. It has Italy, China, and France!

Yes, so you ruined Africa. And the sea-zones look really ugly, what is the matter with you ?
I will never again complain on the AH-artist who ruined only Spain and Eire, because he is nothing compared to this.
And your forum ? So you can read and wright, big deal.

It's not my game, slick!

It's just something that we play and enjoy.

Like any of these games, there are going to be choices made by the designers as to how they handle certain issues.

I may not agree with all their choices, but that doesn't stop me from playing the game and working with them on the topics that I think need help.

There is no need for you to jump all over it. If you don't like it, then fine. Handle it in a more mature way.

Hey, I agree with you concerning the need for a map that has better colors than the one that we got for Revised, but I disagree with your 2nd edition variant. But you don't see me jumping down your throat and telling you how much it sucks.

There are better ways to handle such a discussion.

While a China 6th player is good for solving the China falls too quickly complaint...
its not exactly gonna be much of fun player.
The typical solution involves Chinese forces "can't leave China".
(the causing would be realism...so the solution likely to be realistic)

So I vote Italy. A more decently fun player.

Adding more using an allready established system is NOT making it 'advanced'

If you add Italy your playing revised with a 6th nation.... same rules

If you add a cruiser your still playing revised but with an extra unit

If you use the Bulge combat system instead of the revised combat system your playing revised with the bulge combat system

Delux is not really the proper word to explain the project. It more of an expansion of revised.

Advanced Axis and Allies would not be recognizable in many cases with revised

Its proper to know what words mean. Adding Italy, new pieces, special dice, fixing rules, and filling in the holes with new rules ( in many cases optional) will expand the game beyond its boundries.

Some people buy the game for new ideas and other just want nicer pieces. I feel we should appeal to both kinds of people.

Adding alot of new rules that add flavor will shake up the game, while not crossing the boundry of making it another game.
We really need an Axis and Allies World War one game so i can play that on August 1st, 2014.

Better ways to handle such a discussion, ah ?

Like ethnicaly cleanse 30 million nativ americans ?
Atomic bombard two civillian cities in Japan ?
Or buy 12 million black slaves from Africa ?
Or start wars in Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Iraq , Afghanistan etc etc

You white Americans are so agressive, no wounder you are always commitet to some wars around the globe. I'll bet your occupation is a school-teacher, right ?

Mr. Craig, if that is your real name, I'll start saving money today for a trip to an American A&A Tournaemnt. I challence you, so just pick any nation. I will wax you milky-white ass.

Until then, do take a paxil (funny word, I learned it from Oldsoldier)
