Carriers and Carrier-Based Fighters

Thanks for your input todate. Here is a collection of my thinking at this point. Please feel free to participate in this on going discussion. Your contributions are appreciated. I like the restriction on movement. One point I would add is extended range for Japanese carriers. One of the advantages the Japanese had was the long range of their carrier aircraft. During the Battle of the Philippine Sea (Marianas Turkey Shoot) the Japanese plan was to launch at maximum range to avoid being retaliated upon by the US carrier planes. The Japanese should, therefore, get 2 extra spaces. That way they can launch two spaces from the ship and still return without having to move the ship itself.
