AAR in Istanbul

Post by kerem » Mon Apr 09, 2007 11:12 am

Here are some pictures taken in one of our regular AAR sessions. I thought it might be interesting for you guys to see the general game setting and the atmosphere of a regular "friday game night" in this part of the world, namely: Istanbul. Note also, how my cats found another use for my"Risk"...

please use the links. The last one is my latest custom map, the original file ise huge but i can try to send it to anyone who would want to take a closer look.

Kerem, my Turkish friend, welcome to this forum.

What you think about a neutral Turkey ?

Looks weird, right ? You know the history, Turkey was a strategigal place that controlled the Straits of Bosborous, and both the Axis and the Allies was eager to invade it, so your grannies mobilized more than 400 000 men with guns, just in case. Lucky to you, the enemy never come. But we still belive that in this A&A game Turkey should be attackable. It must be an option for the players to invade Turkey if they feel so. Right ? And that was some nice photoes you got, you are the man.

Thanks Adlertag, glad you liked the photos. Playing AAR is as much fun as sharing the fun with friends at the forum.

Maybe, if Mr Harris decides to make a AA variant about the First War, Turkey -or the Ottoman Empire to be exact- will see a lot of action. But, i agree with you, neutral countries could have been made attackable. (Why not, if we are playing to "change" the course of history?)

The Gallipoli Campaign would be interesting to play.

Comments noted. Thanks for the photo's Kerem. It's always fun to see one of your babies as they make their way around the world.
Loved the Gallipoli movie. I don't think it would much of a game.

Yea what about a WW1 game?

You would corner the market for the 100 year aniversery in 2014.

It would feature nice diplomatic rules and alot of naval combat and poison gas.

How bad can that be?
We really need an Axis and Allies World War one game so i can play that on August 1st, 2014.

I'd love to play an Axis-and-Allies style World War I game ...
