Re: Have a Look at WAR ROOM

Conventional wisdom has got it that you should never judge a book by its cover. My first thought after I have seen the new War Room Website was: Card box counters instead of figurines?!? A round game board? What the heck is he doing??? But after years of playing Axis & Allies (from 1984 edition to 1...

Re: Leaders and Governors

Hi Flashman, once again I can assure you that I value your ideas as a source of inspiration to new, but somehow simpler rules in my games. And I agree with you upon the ability of a leader to reroll combat dice instead of rolling his own dice. How about adapting a rule from Shogun aka Samurai Swords...

Re: Veterans System

Hi Flashman, I just read your post about »What is a legion« - and »What is a garrison«. Perhaps I add one bonus auxiliary infantry for every Home Province, so that they automatically have a limit of five AI each – of course only as long as no other player has sacked the province and destroyed the fo...

Re: Veterans System

Hi Flashman, you have a lot of interesting ideas, but you like it complicated, that is for sure  . As the spears of the old game pieces of the MB edition were always prone to break easily, I introduced new hand painted figures from HÄT for infantry and cavalry. I just finished painting all of ...

Re: How many generals?

Hi Flashman, I don't care too much about the historical accuracy of the game. Does one infantry represent a whole legion or just one cohort (the tenth part of a legion)? Giving the fact that a caesar or general may move up to seven combat units, I would assume it is somewhere in between. However, I ...

Re: Do we need a "Home" province?

I only own the old MB version of the Game – it was the very first article I bought at eBay way back in 2004 or so. Due to the flaws (catapults too strong, some provinces parted by sea, inflation kicks in for the next player in line) of the rules that came with it, I gladly introduced the new rules t...

Re: Attacking aircraft carrier

Hello eddiem4145, I wonder if Krieghund has missed your question or whether he thought the answer was too obvious for him to reply. So let's get straight into it: Of course you can attack with both your carrier and your fighters. However, technically speaking the fighters move independently from the...

Re: Balance Issues in 1942.2

Recently I had the opportunity for a Face to Face game with my gaming buddy and for the first time we turned from the 1941 game to 1942 SE. We used both optional rules - Turkey kept the entry to the Black Sea closed for shipping and Fighter Escorts and Defense was possible, but two fighters in Germa...
