Re: Alpha + // Play test version
Ok, I simply am not able to keep up with all of the variations and suggestions that everyone is making and what Larry has ACTUALLY decided. What is going on inside this thread is not currently updated on the front page setup/rules changes. Larry, I have a new game beginning Friday night and we want...

Re: Alpha+ game 1
The Russians pushed the 18 infantry, a lone tank and the AA gun into Amur on a turn which Japan also had an opportunity to kill a Chinese stack and had to counter some Americans in the South Pacific. Japan decided victory lays in killing ground units I suppose. They killed fifteen or so Chinese with...

Alpha+ game 1
What a weird air base world we live in! Through five rounds we have a pretty exciting game. Germany was able to handily destroy the Royal Navy G1. Now they are matched up even with the Russians and threatening to break out north past Lenningrad. Italy is well established in North Africa. They have a...

Re: Global 1940 Optional Victory Condition Change.
I like the idea of victory cities taking away some Objective money. It is an acceptable alternative to the six victory city rule which I like also. So many options, what to do! ! ! Playtest them all is the answer. Hmmm, activity or lack thereof in sea zones in the Pacific is a problem. Take money aw...

Re: 1st game with beta rules
Just pay attention to the threads from Larry for what he wants to try out. Infrastructure, we played without the new scramble rule. I am probably going to give things a few tries w/o them see how it goes. One effect of the limited scrambling around Japan is they would need a larger defensive perimit...

Re: SCENARIO ALPHA PACIFIC 40
I'm fine with the current scramble rule. It forces America to go after Japanese money and not just plow into the Japanese Fleet. Agree with the others changing it would require 1-more German subs or air units. More Japanese subs and naval units. BTW, I wouldn't be adverse to trading 2 Japanese Fight...

Re: 1st game with beta rules
Larry, the game played great. I don't think there is a need for a major change from the Alpha+ too quickly. Japan was able to push into Siberia rather easily with units provided at start up but it may be a poison pill. As them planes wandered into Siberia they were useless in helping the Imperial Fl...

Re: 1st game with beta rules
The Japanese player has a predisposition to want to play to strategic military victory instead of victory cities is true. Let me count...Tokoyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Honolulu, Manilla, Sidney, Calcutta.. Yeah, 6 victory cities had America worried. America decided to defend Hawaii otherwise Japan cou...
