How is a $400 game the poor man's version of two $60 ones?

Re: The Mediterranean

The addition of Italy in AA50 really made the Mediterranean come alive, and I know the AAE40 will only make this even more true. I must say I am very excited to see this come to be.

Re: Depiction of Poland

Note that when people mention things like Hearts of Iron he doesn't even acknowledge that they have been mentioned, much less show any interest in them. Now, if he tried to make his own game, more power to him, but the fact that he hasn't shown the slightest attempt to do speaks volumes.

Re: Depiction of Poland

The Western US is about 4 inches tall on the Pacific map, right? Or something like that, pretty small. I'm too lazy to actually measure it at the moment. Yet, Patchaman draws the Eastern half of the US with each individual state as a separate space! Not only does he ignore the level of detail the P4...

Re: Depiction of Poland

I think its increasingly safe to pigeonhole him as a troll. He seems to lack even the most basic common sense... like the whole thing where he wanted 14 spaces in the Caribbean. Or posting national objectives in the national advantage topic. Sure the names are similar, but if he even looked at one p...

Re: American Insignia

Its like the Soviet Icon. Complete fabrication, that's not what the Soviets painted on their airplanes or tanks. But its about 15 times more awesome than a simple red star. Its the hammer and sickle... of doom! So much more awesome that way. Plus, for roundels, you can't really claim any sort ...

Re: Depiction of Poland

Now you are just crossing into troll territory. Do you even read these forums? At all? The game is called Axis and Allies: Europe 1940. That number at the end is very important. Do you see it? That's not referring to the ideal number of soldiers in a Russian Conscript Battalion. Its referring to the...

Re: American Insignia

I think its nature as a board game outstrips the importance of Historical Accuracy. You can buy real WWII simulations like Hearts of Iron. This is a board game, not a simulation, and as a game it is going to diverge from reality and simplify things a lot. I think that's a dichotomy that you really d...
