Re: Balance Issues 1942 2nd Ed. Re-Visited

1. Is there any link to the most updated balancing changes by Larry anywhere? 2. Will bidding still take place prior to the balancing changes or not? 3. If money is not a problem (I'm not saying I'm excessively wealthy, just a big fan of A&A) is there any way one could order a new rulebook with all...

Re: Balance Issues 1942 2nd Ed. Re-Visited

Gents, OK, sorry for the delay in responding regarding the results from ORIGINS 1942 2nd. Ed. Tourney. We did use the new set up and come to find out the bids are much lower (they were in the range from 0 (no bid) to up to 12.) Now in most cases, the Axis are still winning, but we did have a few All...

Re: Balance Issues 1942 2nd Ed. Re-Visited

Games are lasting more rounds than original setup with low bids. I am not sure I am following you on this comment? Could you please expand on this? Games, IMO, should not be lasting more rounds just because of setup? Should it? Once the setup is complete, everything is adjusted accordingly to the s...

Re: Balance Issues 1942 2nd Ed. Re-Visited

Comments noted. This new tournament setup proposal seems to be on the right track. Am I wrong? The placement of the G bomber in Ukr is not sacrosanct (as nothing is). I'd prefer avoiding adding any new offsetting Russian units... Larry, you are correct, I believe it is on the right track! You are n...

Re: Balance Issues 1942 2nd Ed. Re-Visited

Allies had some hot dice, Axis was about mean average but cold in a couple critical battles. Allies focused on Atlantic only. Previous 6 games of 42.2 with various Allies' bids have been 5 for the Axis and 1 for the Allies. Definitely makes a difference. Game 2 of 42.2 revised. Axis slaughtered All...

Re: Balance Issues 1942 2nd Ed. Re-Visited

Larry, Thanks for the quick turnaround. It will be a few days before we can get to getting you feedback, since we will have to run a few games and I am in the process of moving so, the combination of the two might set me back just a bit... I like what I see so far and will keep you posted on my end....

Re: Balance Issues 1942 2nd Ed. Re-Visited

Hi. I believe that the Allies can have a substantial fleet off NW UK by the end of turn 3. Give the US EUS fleet an extra DD to start. US turn 1 purchase an AC, UK can save some money. UK turn 3 purchase an AC and 2 DD. US fleet which moved on turn 2 to Canada can join. This gives the Allies 2 AC, ...
