Re: This Low Luck or High Luck or whatever it's called

Like I said, I see the point of low luck, but this is a game designed around dice. Is it a game designed around dice, or is it a game designed around military strategy in a WWII setting that happens to use dice rolling as the mechanic for resolving actions? I hardly play LL myself, but I tire of th...

Re: Alpha +3

The best way I can explain AA guns is 1. Each AA gun may fire 3 shots per turn. 2. No Plane may be shot at more than once per turn. 3. Rule 2 trumps rule 1. So if you have 3 AA guns defending and 10 planes attacking, you get 9 shots. If you have 3 AA guns defending and 8 planes attacking, you only g...

Re: Soviet amphibious on Berlin

If I were playing Germany, I would rejoice if the soviet player did any of this. This strat puts a lot of russian IPCs in a place with no escape option. The Red Army can keep retreating when German strength on the front is too hard to withstand, but that navy is hosed. It's not even useful in tying ...

I don't think this was a serious critique, it seemed a bit tongue-in-cheek to me. Thanks to whoever started this thread by the way, I was curious and the google led me right to you!

Re: Cruisers are pointless

One of my national advantages for UK is giving each cruiser 1 AA shot, it was 3 at one point but that was too powerful.

Re: Global 1941 Setup (Revised for Alpha +3)

Oz, I was wondering what changes you might recommend (such as the 2 russian inf per turn) for playing this just on the Europe map. My dad and I usually don't have time for a global game, and we'd really like to try to get a good 1941 setup for Europe, starting with your great one. I'm not saying it'...

Re: Technology should be "activated" at the end of your turn

With the tech rules as they are now, tech is just throwing money down the drain. It doesn't practically matter when the tech takes effect. The odds of getting a tech you actually use when you need/want it are just about as ridiculous as sending 20 inf against 20 tanks and winning.
