Rules for Axis & Allies 1942??

Hi Larry, It's been a while since I posted regarding D-Day. I've settled into my two favorites; D-Day & Revised. Now, we have A&A 1942 which I've heard has Cruiser class ships and ports most of the rules from AE except for National Objectives and apparently no Tech Research. I actually liked the Tec...

My two cents... I will like: - A&A: Europe Revised : 4 players game, Germany + Italy vs USSR + UK/USA, strategic scale, new board, new (and more) territories, revised costs as in Anniversary, naval and air bases as in Pacific; - A&A: North Africa (or A&A: Mediterranean) : 2 players game, Ger/Ita vs...

But, here's the flipside of what you said. You're considering 1 Bomber to represent just 1 Bomber but 1 Infantry to represent a Platoon or Regiment. If 1 Infantry represents a division, then 1 Bomber must represent a squadron or squadrons of Bombers. You can't have it both ways. I never said that o...

[quote=However, if we must have paratroopers at all, they should have to stop moving as soon as they enter hostile territory, as they do in AA50. This prevents the outrageously unrealistic possibility of dropping paratroopers hundreds of miles behind enemy lines with no hope at all of timely support...

Bombers used to transport Infantry, Artillery,Tanks & AA

Transports carry units up to 2 sea zones by sea. Why not have Bombers drop land units up to 2 or 3 territories away as well? OR, specifically, 1 Infantry and 1 Tank or 1 Artillery or 1 Antiaircraft? If the Bomber is 'shot down' by Antiaircraft then the units on board are also lost. Same as Transport...

Majority, Minor, Moderate Victories

Under the LHTR 2.0 you have an options for 9 (Moderate) or 12 (Total) victories. However, I had a new idea with regard to tournament play. It works like this: You play a maximum of 10 to 12 rounds. You earn points based on how decisive your victory is. Major & Total Victory options are not used. Thi...

Thanks John, interesting and insightful post... You're welcome Larry! One more game experience to report. I played as the Germans and won when the Allies could not capture all three cities by turn 9. I totally abandoned Cherbourgh as the Germans and marched them towards St. Lo from turn one. My dad...

I haven’t seen/experienced any real “problem” from stacking in AAR (I can’t speak for the other A&A games…haven’t played them enough to know). But in AAR; Sure, Russia could stack infantry every turn and just build up their defenses, waiting for their allies to come to their aid before buyin...
