Reminds me of the time I had a large Austrian army marooned in Russia after the revolution. Since it was mandatory to leave the single infantry behind, the big stack of artillery could not move back to the west since the UK had cut off retreat by taking Ukraine from the south.

I think it should be legal to downgrade an artillery to an infantry in these circumstances.

A qestion about Russian Revolution

@ Krieghound

Here’s the thing

We are playing with Russian Revolution rule,
GER and HU controlled Poland, Ukraine, Tatarstan, Belarus, Livonia.
Karelia is controlled by Russians
HU contest Moscow, remaining with 1 inf and 6 art. Vs 30 inf. 8 art.

The Russian player has no possibilities to free enough territories to avoid revolution,
So in his turn the Tsar decides to order the Army to leave Moscow, sending everyone to Karelia.
This move concedes Moscow to HU, BUT prevent the revolution.
(Russia maintains an impressive army and could try to free Livonia and Belarus before retaking Moscow).

Correct?
